Brand and locale overrides for snippets and variables
Overrides diverge from the base value precisely — per brand, locale, or site, without duplicating full texts.
The override principle
There is one shared base value for a snippet or variable. Only where the content should differ do you store an override for a specific scope — full texts are never duplicated.
Scopes
An override can apply by brand, locale, market, and site profile. This lets you express targeted deviations without maintaining a complete text for every combination.
Pick the broadest fitting scope
As a rule of thumb: choose the broadest scope that fits. If a text is identical across all brands, it belongs on the shared level — not in a brand override. This keeps maintenance tidy.
