Depending on the plan, the live check runs every two weeks, weekly or daily; the relevance check on legal changes monthly, weekly or daily. A tighter cadence means a possible need for review surfaces earlier — it says nothing about whether or when a change becomes public knowledge or binding for you.
Automation without losing control.
Document Intelligence is switched on deliberately and can be turned off again at any time. Findings and proposed changes are preparation: adoption and publication happen only after your decision — in the same approval workflow as any other change.

Who is TermShelf for?
TermShelf is a B2B SaaS for Legal Content Operations, intended exclusively for companies, freelancers, agencies and operators of digital offerings (SaaS, shops, platforms). Contracts are concluded only with entrepreneurs within the meaning of § 14 BGB, legal entities and partnerships with legal capacity. Consumers within the meaning of § 13 BGB are excluded from use.
What does TermShelf bill for?
Pricing scales with the number of active brands — i.e. brands for which TermShelf manages, publishes, delivers, or checks legal texts for relevant changes — plus your monitored websites and your delivery volume. Each plan includes a fixed seat allowance (Free 1, Starter 3, Professional 10, Business 25, Agency 50); there is no per-seat billing.
Which plans include Document Intelligence?
Free includes no Document Intelligence: the plan carries neither a monitored website nor a check on relevant legal changes. Starter adds the website check — the live check of published legal texts and website-change detection. The relevance check on legal changes, prepared proposed changes and assessment in brand and document context begin with Professional. The two checks have separate cadences and separate on-demand checks: the website check can additionally be triggered manually from Business upwards, the legal-change check from Agency upwards. Enterprise runs both on the prioritized queue.
What does the check cadence — “daily”, say — actually mean?
The cadence describes how often TermShelf checks. It says nothing about when a legal change is published, becomes known or becomes binding for you, and it is not a promise to catch every relevant change. A tighter cadence surfaces a possible need for review earlier.
What is a monitored website?
A monitored website is one TermShelf checks regularly: for the live check of your published legal texts and for website-change detection. Plain delivery through the Public Delivery API does not count against this limit — you can deliver legal texts to websites you do not have monitored. The relevance check on legal changes, by contrast, is anchored to the brand and needs no monitored website.
What is the difference between website changes and the live check?
WebsiteChange describes a change in the business reality around a legal text — a new service or offering on the website, for example. Legal Content Drift describes a divergence of the legal text itself: the version visible live no longer matches the approved one. One raises a content question, the other a delivery question.
Does TermShelf change or publish legal texts automatically?
No. Document Intelligence produces review findings and — only after you confirm them — proposed changes. A proposal is never applied automatically and never published automatically. Adoption, approval and publication remain explicit decisions inside the existing workflow.
Are legal texts, legal advice or warning-letter protection included?
No. TermShelf creates no legally binding content, does not replace legal advice, and provides no “Abmahnschutz” (warning-letter protection) or warranty for the substantive correctness of your legal texts. You bring your own texts, reviewed internally or externally — for example from law firms, in-house legal teams or specialized legal-text providers. TermShelf helps you version, approve, deliver, evidence and live-check those texts.
What happens after the Professional trial?
After the 30-day Professional trial, the plan automatically reverts to Free unless a paid plan is chosen. Moving to Free removes the monitored website and the check on relevant legal changes — and with them Document Intelligence as a whole.
What is Transactional Legal Text Delivery?
TermShelf delivers legal texts not only to websites but also to transactional systems — as HTML snippets for mailings and checkout flows, as JSON for your own templates, or as versioned PDFs to attach to order, contract or registration emails.
Are the limits listed binding?
The brand, website, user and delivery limits shown on this page are the ones your plan carries. Further technical limits — publications or check runs per month, for example — are set per plan and may change.
Does TermShelf offer enterprise terms?
Larger organizations can reach out about custom websites, volume, retention, SLA, SSO and custom contracts. Enterprise checks additionally run on the prioritized queue.
